War and the Neo-Cons: Stop Them Before It’s Too Late

War and the Neo-ConsTo my dismay the current conflict between Georgia and Russia is bringing out the absolute worst in the Neo-Cons who are only too ready to enter the United States into the engagement and start WWIII.

Here are some facts:

Condoleezza Rice was in Georgia meeting with Georgia’s president Saakashvili on July 10, the day before Georgia’s tanks rolled into the breakaway province of South Ossetia.

Karl Rove met with Saakashvili just days latter in Yalta.

Randy Scheunemann, John McCain’s chief foreign affairs advisor is a registered foreign lobbyist for Georgia. He has to date made almost $1,000,000 from Georgia.

John McCain is sending warnings to Russia claiming that they risk being excluded from the civilized world. For what? Invading and occupying a sovereign nation? I wonder where Russia got the idea? Perhaps from our doctrine of preemption?

It is now obvious that the situation in Georgia was at the very least encouraged by the Bush Administration, John McCain and the Neo-Cons. John McCain now says he’s sending Joe Lieberman into the region to meet with Saakashvili. Is John McCain the President? Does he have the authority to send envoys into a war zone to represent the United States? What is going on?

The only thing I can say is that this Neo-Con pro-war administration has to be stopped. An undefined war against an unknown terror enemy was bad, invading and occupying Iraq, a nation that had made no aggressive moves against the United Sates was worse, trying to provoke a war with Iran is unspeakable, but trying to provoke a conflict with Russia, is a bridge too far.

I don’t care if you’re a Republican or a Democrat, surly you don’t support starting WWIII. Regardless of your political persuasion, there is no way you support starting a war with an intense nuclear power.

Don’t let this happen. Get on the phone, write a letter, send a carrier pigeon, do what ever you must to let your Representatives know that you expect them to stop this before it gets going. A war with Russia would destroy our country and the world. This road is too dangerous to go down.
