Jimmy Page Earns Honorary Doctorate
Jimmy Page has an honorary degree to his credit. Britain's University of Surrey gave the Led Zeppelin guitarist the award in recognition of his lasting musical legacy. He formally received the Doctor of the University degree in a ceremony at Guilford Cathedral on June 20th. During the event Page also had a gift for the school. He donated an autographed guitar which will be the prize at the upcoming GuilFest. The University of Surrey holds a place of significance in Led Zeppelin history. The band, which originally was called the New Yardbirds, played their first concert as Led Zeppelin at the school on October 25th, 1968. |
