Mott The Hoople Reuniting
A Mott the Hoople reunion appears to be in the making. The pioneering glam band has two shows booked in London later this year. The shows coincide with the group's 40th anniversary, and will mark the first time in 35 years that original members Ian Hunter, Mick Ralphs, Verden Allen, Dale Griffin, and Pete "Overend" Watts have shared the stage. While Mott the Hoople always enjoyed a cult following, the band never achieved a great deal of commercial success. Hunter confirms the reunion in a post on his website, and notes that a Mott website is in the works. He also notes that curiosity is what's motivating him to get back together with his former band mates, adding, quote, "I can't speak for the others, but I'm doing it just to see what it's like." The Mott the Hoople reunion shows are scheduled for London's Hammersmith Apollo on October 2nd and 3rd. |
