CMT Music Awards Tonight
Sugarland, Brad Paisley, and Taylor Swift are among the top nominees heading into the 2009 CMT Music Awards. And win or lose, they're expected to be on hand for the star-packed event. They're among the many artists slated to perform during the ceremony. Some of the other performers include nominees Rascal Flatts, Lady Antebellum, Toby Keith, Keith Urban, and Dierks Bentley, while the lengthy list of presenters boasts Martina McBride, Lee Ann Womack, Rodney Atkins, Billy Currington, and Julianne Hough, as well as Alison Krauss, Kellie Pickler, Heidi Newfield, and Naomi Judd. A number of stars not typically associated with country music are also set to appear. Rapper T-Pain, rockers Ted Nugent and Def Leppard, "American Idol" judge Randy Jackson, "The O'Reilly Factor" host Bill O'Reilly, and "Dancing With the Stars" winners Shawn Johnson and Mark Ballas will also take part in the ceremony. The fans also play a big role in the CMT Music Awards. Nominees as well as winners have been determined by an online vote, and at the start of the event viewers will be called upon to select the clip that receives the top prize of Video of the Year. Finalists in that category will be announced at the start of the show. The 2009 CMT Music Awards, featuring country comedian Bill Engvall as the host, will be presented in a ceremony at the Sommet [[so-MAY]] Center in Nashville, airing on CMT tonight at 8:00 p.m. Eastern.
