Daughtry Returning To Smaller Clubs To Promote New Album
Daughtry has played at big venues like Los Angeles' Staples Center and the Dodge Theater in Phoenix, but the rockers are heading back to smaller clubs. Billboard.com reports the band is planning a 13-date club run beginning in August to promote their upcoming sophomore album. Frontman Chris Daughtry, who finished in fourth place on the fifth season of "American Idol," says before he and the group gained fame, they used to play smaller clubs all the time. He said, quote, "All I ever wanted to do was be in a successful rock band and play shows, so we really feel at home in [[ the clubs ]]."
The concerts begin on August 2nd in Orlando, Florida and run through August 22nd. Tickets for the shows go on sale on July 11th. The mini-tour will support Daughtry's upcoming album "Leave This Town" due in stores on July 14th. The first 50 fans who pre-order the album on the group's official website will be offered a free concert ticket.
