"American Idol's" Blake Lewis Prepping For Release Of New Dance Album
"American Idol" alum Blake Lewis is working on a new dance-pop project. "People" magazine reports the season six runnerup of the hit Fox reality singing show is releasing a new album in October that will be filled with what he calls, quote, "electro pop goodness with melodies I cherish." Lewis worked with the likes of Rodney Jerkins and Dave Aude to create the new record. The singer says he made the shift from pop-rock to dance-pop because the music in dance gets him out onto the dance floor. He says he decided to call the album "Heartbreak on Vinyl" as an ode to record stores that have had to close down. The first single from the disc, titled "Sad Song," will be available on People.com on July 21st. "Heartbreak on Vinyl" is due October 6th. |
