Rob Zombie Brings Sequel Concept To CDs
Singer Rob Zombie is borrowing an idea from director Rob Zombie's career. The vocalist tells MTV News working on a sequel to his film "Halloween" inspired him to create a sequel to his highly successful "Hellbilly Deluxe" album. Zombie says, quote, "I thought that could be kind of cool. You do it for movies, it's so commonplace." He admits that he had second thoughts, explaining, quote, "I thought it might be a little weird so I shelved the idea. But once we finished the record and I listened to it, and the way the record was made, it kind of had the spirit and the vibe of 'Hellbilly Deluxe.' If any record is ever gonna get called that, this would be a good one."
Zombie notes the songs on "Hellbilly Deluxe 2" don't specifically correlate to the first disc however, adding, quote, "I didn't set out to make each song have a companion song. That would be really contrived. I just thought the record had the same vibe." "Hellbilly Deluxe 2" arrived in stores this week. |
