They tied the knot in the summer of 2001, and were successful at keeping their special day private. Barry Manilow performed a concert at Radio City Music Hall in New York, and donated the proceeds from the show to the Families of Freedom Scholarship Fund. The fund was established by former President Bill Clinton and former Senator Bob Dole to help the families of the victims of the September 11th terrorist attacks. 2003 - Elton John was among the performers at a benefit concert for London's Old Vic Theater. 2006 - Jessica Simpson was featured in a Pizza Hut ad that aired prior to the Super Bowl. In the commercial, Jessica parodied her tune "These Boots Are Made For Walkin'" to promote Pizza Hut's Cheesy Bites Pizza. 2007 - Jennifer Hudson changed her tune about "American Idol" while speaking at the Oscar nominees luncheon. She had previously told "Essence" magazine that contestants on the Fox show were "abused, misled and brainwashed to believe whatever they want you to think." Hudson later said she was thankful for "Idol" and gave the show credit for launching her career.<
