Sparklehorse Leader Passes
Sparklehorse leader Mark Linkous has died at his own hands. "Rolling Stone" reports that his family confirmed Linkous' March 6th suicide, stating, quote, "We are thankful for his time with us and will hold him forever in our hearts. May his journey be peaceful, happy and free. There's a heaven and there's a start for you." Linkous was briefly pronounced dead in 1996 after ingesting a mix of Valium and antidepressants, but he recovered crippled from the incident. He continued to record music over the years, and most recently teamed with Danger Mouse and David Lynch on the "Dark Night Of The Soul" album. The disc was shelved last year due to legalities, but last week it was revealed that Danger Mouse and EMI had worked out the issues and the CD would finally arrive later this year. Linkous had reportedly been wrapping up a new album at the time of his death. |
