Mothersbaugh Dishes On Devo's Forthcoming LP
Mark Mothersbaugh is dishing on Devo's first new studio album in 20 years. As part of RollingStone.com's "Spring Music Preview," Mothersbaugh said the band's album -- set to release this spring -- picks up where "Smooth Noodle Maps" left off in 1990. The musician commented, quote, "These new songs are pretty true to what we would be doing if we would have gone into suspended animation 20 years ago and just woke up." The album did integrate new collaborations, however. Santigold and Lily Allen's producer Greg Kurstin worked with the new wave band. Regarding the producers' input, Mothersbaugh said, quote, "Devo are rather insular, so we wanted to work with people who are connected to the rest of the world."
Devo also has leaked a single from the project called "Fresh." Devo's as-yet-untitled LP is due this May. |
