Dio Continues Cancer Fight, Is Penning New Material
Wendy Dio is providing another update to fans regarding husband Ronnie James' ongoing cancer battle. In a post on Dio's official website, Wendy reports that her rocker spouse has completed a seventh round of chemotherapy with good results. It seems Ronnie James also is feeling well enough to write new material with Craig Goldy, guitarist for Dio. Goldy is slated to work on new songs with Dio this month. Regarding Goldy's visit to collaborate with Ronnie James, Wendy wrote, "It will be great to see him again, as he has been away touring with the British band Budgie." Wendy Dio -- who is also Ronnie James' manager -- added that she and Ronnie James continue to read through cards and letters from fans.
Ronnie James Dio was diagnosed with stomach cancer in November 2009. The 67-year-old rocker has fronted Black Sabbath, Rainbow, Dio, and more in his multi-decade career. |
