Gaga Releases Star-Studded New Video For "Telephone"
Lady Gaga's new video for the track "Telephone" features Beyonce and so much more. The star-studded clip premiered late Thursday night on E! News. Beyonce plays a revenge-minded bombshell in Bettie Page bangs. Gaga tour mates Semi-Precious Weapons can be seen over the shoulder of actor Tyrese Gibson as they are all poisoned in a diner. MTV's "Making The Band" choreographer Laurie Ann Gibson is credited with creating the video's dance numbers. "Queer Eye For the Straight Guy" star Jai Rodriguez makes a cameo as a news reporter. Even Gaga's younger sister, Natali Germanotta, makes a cameo as the brunette the star is standing next to in prison as she wears Coke can curlers.
The ten-minute video also contains several pop culture references, like a "Wonder Woman" shout out with Beyonce and Gaga in American flag dance costumes. There's also a nod to the late Michael Jackson as Gaga does one of his infamous dance steps as she's released from prison. MTV.com reports that director Quentin Tarantino lent Gaga the "Pussy Wagon" truck featured in his "Kill Bill" movies. The singer says, quote, "We were having lunch one day in Los Angeles and I was telling him about my concept for the video and he said, 'You gotta use the Pussy Wagon!'" The yellow and pink painted truck was driven by actress Uma Thurman in "Kill Bill Volume One."
