1987 - Frankie Goes To Hollywood announced the group was breaking up.
Boy George took part in a benefit recording of The Beatles' "Let It Be," which was issued to raise money for victims of a ferry disaster off the coast of Belgium.
1990 - New Kids On The Block set a record for a pay-per-view audience when 13-point-seven-million homes signed up for the show.
1991 - Hammer's videos "Please Hammer Don't Hurt 'em" and "Hammer Time" were certified multi-Platinum.

1994 - Whitney Houston and Toni Braxton both received two awards at the "8th annual Soul Train Music Awards."
1995 - Madonna announced that she would be taking the title role in the upcoming movie "Evita."
1996 - Chris Isaac's album "Forever Blue" was certified Platinum.
1999 - Billy Joel was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
2003 - Michelle Branch made an in-store appearance at the Marshall Field's in the Chicago suburb of Schaumburg, Illinois.
2004 - Prince was inducted in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame's Class of 2004. The ceremony at New York's Waldorf-Astoria Hotel featured current artists Alicia Keys and OutKast as presenters.
2005 - "American Idol" started the final 12 portion of the show minus one of the chosen finalists. Mario Vazquez had earlier quit the show for "personal reasons." He was replaced by Nikko Smith. Vazquez appeared on "The Late Show with David Letterman" that night to give the "Top Ten" reasons why he left "American Idol."
2006 - Melissa McGhee was the first Top 12 contestant voted off on Fox's "American Idol."< |
