Scorpions Launch Farewell Tour In Prague
The Scorpions are back on the road for one final tour. Blabbermouth.net reports that the German hard rock band launched its "Get Your Sting And Blackout Farewell Tour 2010" on Tuesday night. The Scorpions played a 25-song set for fans at 02 Arena in Prague that included tracks like "The Zoo" and "Rock You Like A Hurricane." The tour follows the band's January announcement of their plans to wrap a multi-decade run. Scorpion Rudolf Schenker has said that the band wants to go out on top with the 2010 trek and a new LP called "Sting of the Tail."
Regarding the new album, Schenker told AOL's "Noise Creep," quote, "We heard these songs together, and it just captured the essence of the '80s Scorpions sound." The 61-year-old added, quote, "Then our manager had the idea to finish the band on a high note with this record. At first, we thought he was joking. But then we noticed he was completely being serious. And it turns out, he was right." |
